VCD

The Vessel Configuration Data Archive was a public repository of ship designs for the original Flash implementation of Captain Forever.
The site is hosted by the duo Nathan and Matt Ostgard aka "Phuce". It was brought online on August/September 2009, and hosts 125 distinct designs by anonymous pilots.

Operation

After a session of Captain Forever, if the pilot had not started a game with a premade ship design ("Clone Mode"), the pilot can choose to save/upload any iteration
of their craft by multiple encodings; VCD used the HTML format. Uploads were saved under an unknown hash for later reference.

Suspension

The final upload was on May 23rd, 2010 with the site blocking further uploads thereafter. Why the site was restricted to such a small pool of uploads is unknown.
With the deprecation of Flash and the original hosted version of Captain Forever by extension, usage of these configurations are now impossible,
as the Trilogy version of Forever lacks support for this feature.
